The Garage

Eleven rides, and not one of them for sale

From a sensible family saloon to an actual double-decker bus. Every car is earned by driving, every paint job costs coins you won, and nothing in here can be bought with money.

The Garage is where the game keeps everything you have earned: the cars, the paint, the horns and the soundtrack. Every car is a real handling change, not a skin. A heavy ride shoves traffic out of the way and forgives a mistake; a light one is quicker and turns harder and dies to a love-tap. Picking the wrong one for a level is a real way to lose.

The eleven cars

You start in the Heartland Saloon. Everything else arrives as you get further into the 28-level campaign, except three secret rides that are earned a different way.

CarUnlocksWhat it is
Heartland SaloonYou start with itThe reliable family sedan. Balanced, forgiving, and still viable in the final chapter.
Kopitiam LorryClear level 2Smells of kaya toast. Slow, built like a void deck pillar, shoves everyone aside and wades through a flood.
Ah Beng CivicClear level 4Illegal exhaust, neon undercarriage, spoiler bigger than the car. Fast and fragile.
Kpod KapcaiClear level 7A delivery bike you can hear three blocks away. Splits lanes, jumps queues, fears nothing except a sedan.
Banned-Since-2019 PMDClear level 10An e-scooter with no business on the road. Nimble, fearless, made of paper.
Night Race SpecialClear level 13Open-wheel, no boot for groceries, glued to the apex and allergic to potholes.
Uncle's Vintage ContinentalClear level 20Kept since 1987, waxed every Sunday. Floats through corners like a sofa and hits like a fridge.
Kampung RocketClear level 25A JB compact on its home roads. Cheap, quick, and unbothered by potholes it has known since birth.
Double-Decker SBSSend us feedbackA whole public bus, captain. Slow to wind up, laughs off love-taps.
Grab VezelShare the gamePrivate-hire crossover, peppermint sweet in the cupholder. Comfy, balanced, surge-priced.
Monster TruckDo both of the aboveWheels taller than your Ah Gong. It does not avoid the jam, it drives over it.

The three secret rides are the only ones not tied to a level, and they are genuinely secret in the game itself. They are here because a walkthrough that hides things is not a walkthrough.

The Garage screen: a boxy 3D car model on a turntable inside a bordered panel, with the vehicle's name and the player's coin balance above it
Every car spins on a turntable, and you can try a paint job on it before you own it.

Nine paint jobs

Paint is per car, so the lorry can be Kopi-O black while the Civic stays Neon Nights. You can preview any of them on the turntable before you buy, which is the best sales pitch there is.

Kaya ToastNot for sale. Seven-day Daily Challenge streak.

Kaya Toast is the interesting one. It has no price, and there is no way to shortcut it: seven days in a row on the daily, or you do not have it. If you see it on somebody's car, they turned up every day for a week.

Three horns

The horn is not decoration. Leaning on it makes nearby traffic flinch out of your way, which is a real tool in a jam, and each horn has its own reach.

Lorry Blast600Full kopitiam-lorry air horn. Very shiok.
Circus Honk600Squeaky two-tone. Zero road presence, maximum insult.

Where coins come from

Every coin in the game is earned. There is no coin pack, no premium currency and nothing to buy with a card. Coins arrive from:

  • Clearing a campaign level. Later levels pay more, and a first clear pays double. Stars and your medal add to it.
  • The Daily Challenge. A flat amount plus a bonus that grows with your streak, up to a cap. A long streak makes the daily the best coin source in the game.
  • Finishing a bonus mode run. Each mode is measured against its own par, so a good Teh Tarik Run and a good PMD Grand Prix pay about the same for the same effort.
  • Crashing out. A wipeout still pays a small consolation, capped low. You never leave a run with nothing.
  • Watching a rewarded video, if you want to. It tops up 100 coins, up to five times a day, and it is always your choice: it only plays after you tap a clearly labelled button.

One full campaign with decent medals lands somewhere around 1,700 to 2,200 coins, which is two or three cosmetics. The Garage is meant to take a while.

Ranks and the soundtrack

Everything you play also earns experience, and experience moves you up ten driver ranks, from P-PLATE PROBIE at the bottom to ROAD LEGEND at the top, by way of KOPI RUNNER, KIASU KING and TAXI UNCLE. Your rank sits on your driver licence card and has its own global board, so a duel against someone two ranks above you tells you something before you start.

The Garage also holds the music. There are three full soundtracks, and each one covers every situation in the game separately, from the menu to the rain to a boss fight:

  • Neon Kopitiam, the default, and note for note the score the game shipped with.
  • Guofeng Drift.
  • Pasar Malam Rave.

You cycle them, or switch the music off entirely, from the speaker in the main menu's bottom bar or from Settings. The choice sticks, including a trip through OFF and back.

Common questions

How many cars are there in SG Bumper Cars?

Eleven. You start with the Heartland Saloon. Seven more unlock as you clear campaign levels, one is a reward for finishing deep into Chapter 2, and three are secret rides earned by leaving feedback, sharing the game, or both.

Can I buy cars with real money?

No. Nothing in SG Bumper Cars is for sale. There are no in-app purchases, no premium currency and no paid unlocks. Cars are earned by playing, and coins are earned by playing too.

What do coins buy?

Paint jobs and horns, and nothing else. Cars are not bought with coins, they are unlocked by clearing levels, so coins are purely for making your ride look and sound like yours.

Which car is the best?

It depends on the level. Heavy rides like the Kopitiam Lorry shove traffic aside and survive mistakes; light ones like the Ah Beng Civic and the Kampung Rocket are faster and turn harder but break easily. The Heartland Saloon you start with is the balanced one and stays viable to the end.

Are there loot boxes?

None. Nothing in the game is chance-based. Every paint and horn shows its price before you spend a coin, and every car tells you exactly what unlocks it.

The fastest way to fill the Garage is to keep a daily streak going while working through the campaign. If you are still learning the traffic, start with the How to Play guide.
