Is the Android app free?

Yes, in full. The whole campaign, every bonus mode and every car are in the free app. There is an occasional ad between runs and some optional rewarded videos, and nothing is locked behind a payment.

Is it the same game as the browser version?

It is the same build. The app wraps the same game the website runs, so the levels, the voice acting and the leaderboards are identical. Nothing is exclusive to either one.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. The game and all of its audio are installed with the app, so the campaign and the bonus modes play with no connection. Only the leaderboards and Kaki Duels need the internet, and they catch up when you are back on it.

Will my browser progress carry over to the app?

Not on its own, because a browser and an app store their saves separately. Save a Recovery Licence card in the browser first, then restore it in the app, and your progress, coins and unlocks come across.

Is there an iPhone version?

There is no iOS release planned. On iPhone and iPad the browser version is the whole game: open the site and play, or add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

The browser version is not going anywhere and it is still the fastest way to try the game: no install, no account, open the page and drive. The app is for the people who kept coming back and got tired of digging out the tab.

What the app adds

Nothing about the game itself changes. What changes is everything around it:

It plays offline. The whole game, including every one of the Singlish voice clips, installs with the app. The campaign and all five bonus modes work in the MRT tunnel, on a plane, or anywhere the signal gives up. Only the leaderboards and Kaki Duels want a connection, and they catch up on their own once you have one.
It is on your home screen. Its own icon, no browser bar eating the top of the screen, and it opens straight into the game.
It can remind you. Optional reminders for the Daily Challenge before your streak dies, and for a Kaki Duel sitting unanswered in your inbox. Off until you turn them on, and they respect quiet hours.
Duel links open in the app. A challenge someone sends you opens the run directly instead of bouncing you through a browser.

Still free, and still free in the way that matters: the entire campaign, every bonus mode and every car are in the app with nothing locked behind a payment. There is an ad between runs now and then, some optional rewarded videos if you want extra coins, and a tip jar that grants you absolutely nothing. That is the whole business model.

It is the same game, literally

This is not a port and not a cut-down version. The app runs the same build the website does, so there is no content that exists in one and not the other, and no mode that arrives on one first. The leaderboards are the same boards, so a score set in a browser and a score set in the app compete against each other directly.

Bringing your progress across

A browser and an app keep their saves in separate places, so installing the app does not find your old progress by itself. The Recovery Licence is how you move it: in the browser, open Settings and save your licence card, then install the app and restore that card. Your levels, coins, cars and leaderboard identity all come with it.

It is worth doing even if you do not care about the app, because that card is also the only way back into your account if you lose the device.

On iPhone

There is no iOS release planned. That is not an oversight: the browser version on an iPhone is the entire game, touch controls and all, and you can add it to your home screen from the share menu, where it opens without the browser chrome. The only things you give up are the offline install and the reminders.
